Part Time Bosun – Discovery Sailing Project

  • Part Time (20hrs/week)
  • Up to £250 per day (dependent upon experience)
  • Closing Date: 01 December 2026

This is a unique, exciting, engaging and fulfilling role helping to ensure our vessels are ready for sea, enabling young people to partake in lifechanging experiences through the power of Sail Training.

The Discovery Sailing Project is a Sail Training Charity which is part of the Scout Association. We enable young people from all walks of life to experience and benefit from Offshore Sailing. We operate three yachts from our base: DSP HQ, Universal Marina, on the River Hamble.

We have three vessels:

  • Thermopylae Clipper, 60’ (15 berths)
  • Discovery DSP, 43’ (12 berths)
  • Alexander Fairey, 34’ (8 berths)

This is a part time role, circa 20 hours/week. We seek an individual with a hands-on operational focus, NOT a manager to direct and lead others. We need a “do-er”.

This is a unique, exciting, engaging and fulfilling role where the main requirement is to ensure our vessels are ready for sea, enabling young people to partake in lifechanging experiences through the power of Sail Training.
